Strengthening networks of interconnecting roots to win fair pay, health care, and affordable housing and space for all.
NAPA supports the development of local networks of creative and cultural workers advancing grassroots campaigns to win economic rights in their communities.
We help creative workers join local campaigns by cultivating local networks of artist-led formations, developing their organizing and campaign skills, supporting leadership development, and convening peer learning cohorts to advance their efforts.
NAPA provides advocacy and policy support to help creative workers join and run effective campaigns. We monitor and share relevant policy developments through the State of the Artist substack, and provide needed policy analysis, research, and resources to advance campaigns, making all resources available to the broader field as well.
NAPA also leads participatory research and policy co-design projects with creative workers and their advocates, delivering the worker-centered evidence and policy innovations needed to provide economic security and rights for all.
NAPA builds cross-sectoral relationships and alliances with local and national campaigns fighting for economic justice, with an initial focus on fair pay, universal health care, and affordable housing and space.
We connect artists and creative workers into those campaigns as an organized constituency, bringing the unique skills and capacities of our community to the broader fights for economic justice and rights for all.
Our Strategic Plan
NAPA convened a Co-Design Team in Winter 2024 to help process the insights from our discovery phase and shape a strategic plan for this work going forward.
Together, they crafted a strategic plan that articulated NAPA’s mission, vision, and values, theory of change, goals & objectives, core stakeholders, and operating model. We are so grateful for their time, energy, and thoughtful contributions!
